An Elegant Romance

Hi all! So, this week’s post is yet another regency. I can’t help it, I do love the genre. Lol. This week, I’m sharing Kristi Ann Hunter’s newest novel, An Elegant Façade. Just released last week, this story was amazing! But, before I start gushing, here’s a little more about the story.

51bkrxmo9ol-_sx322_bo1204203200_Lady Georgina Hawthorne has always known she must marry well. After years of tirelessly planning every detail of her debut season, she is poised to be a smashing success and have her choice of eligible gentlemen.

With money and powerful business connections but no title, Colin McCrae is invited everywhere but accepted nowhere. He intends to marry someday, but when he does it will not be to a shallow woman like Lady Georgina, whose only concerns appear to be status and appearance.

But beneath her flawless exterior, Georgina’s social aspirations stem from a shameful secret she is desperately trying to keep hidden–and that Colin is too close to discovering. Drawn to each other despite their mutual intent to avoid association, is the realization of their dreams worth the sacrifices they’ll be forced to make?

My thoughts?

This beautiful story is a wonderful addition to Kristi Ann Hunter’s Hawthorne House series. This book focuses on Georgina, the younger sister who’s worked hard to become a perfect debutante. She’s spent her life working hard, perfecting her image, afraid of anyone finding her secrets. But behind that calculated façade is a beautiful heart, longing to be freed. Then there’s Colin, wealthy but without title, and good friend of the family’s. He likes to keep his eyes open, his mind working, and his heart generous. Sparks fly whenever these two are together, and it’s so fun watching them banter. Both break through the other’s defenses, making for some very enjoyable conversations. It was so much fun getting to know these characters, and seeing the story from their point of view. While it covers the same time frame as the previous book, seeing the events from another perspective, this is also enjoyable as a stand-alone. The settings were beautiful, the story-line intriguing, the characters lovable in their own way, and a romance that’s both sweet and fun. I’m certainly looking forward to continuing this family’s story.

(Disclaimer, I did receive a copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions are my own.)

So, interested? You can find a copy of this book for Kindle or NOOK, not to mention my favorite paperback. Also, feel free to check out Kristi Ann Hunter’s website, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter for upcoming news on the rest of the Hawthorne House family.
